Distance of hotel from city center

Most of times while we are ourselves living in cities & towns, we may not like to be in center of a city. A city center though is nearby to shopping area but may be crowded or noisy, can be expensive as compared to hotel outside city limits. Similarly hotels outside the commercial areas may provide you with more scenic views, stay in more serene environment but can be away from market. So while you choose a hotel please also check for its location as per your interest

Type of hotel

Star categorization of hotels can be misleading at times specially in hill stations where there is no official star categorization done by a competent authority and star categorization mentioned on websites may be as per understanding of local businesses or website displaying the mentioned hotel. There is no standardized guidelines in many cases wherein comparing different hotels may be difficult. A hotel might also have different category of rooms which are booked under different price bands. When booking a hotel be sure what star categorization you are looking at, what facilities you want in a hotel or in room that you wish to book, what is your own price range and if you want a hotel, a resort, a boutique property or a homestay as all have their own charm.

Hotel reviews

Attimes reviews of a hotel may be misleading. Tripadvisor and booking.com would be the best recommended websites to read about a hotel & its services over its reviews as they are posted by people who would have stayed in a particular hotel. Reviews on google.com can be misleading as it can be posted by anyone not necessarily by a person who has stayed or experienced hotel services. While you start reading reviews about a hotel you would even be able to judge between real or fake reviews posted. Reviews help a lot about deciding a hotel stay.
